October 20, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus\u2019 Supreme Court has upheld lengthy prison sentences for U\u0142adzimir and Raisa Lipski, who were accused of plotting to assassinate 42 officials involved in criminal proceedings against their son, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raisa Lipski was sentenced to 22 years in prison and her husband to 24 years. The couple pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their son, Alaksandar Lipski, was shot dead by police in August 2024 after resisting arrest on suspicion of murdering a woman whom he blamed for his criminal prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lipski family allegedly devised the plan and acquired weapons and explosives after their son Alaksandar was convicted in December 2018 of aggravated hooliganism and causing bodily injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators seized a handgun, a smoothbore firearm, a silencer, homemade hand grenades, at least 150 cartridges, 27 firearm magazines, smoke grenades and other weapons, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
