{"id":207144,"date":"2026-10-12T22:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T19:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/207144\/"},"modified":"2026-10-12T23:19:25","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T20:19:25","slug":"belarus-offers-machinery-food-for-post-conflict-recovery-to-war-torn-sudan","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/207144\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus offers machinery, food for \u201cpost conflict recovery\u201d to war-torn Sudan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 12, Pozirk. <\/strong>Belarus is ready to take part in Sudan\u2019s \u201cpost-conflict recovery\u201d by supplying it with agricultural, passenger, cargo and road construction equipment, foodstuffs and other goods, Belarus\u2019 Egypt-based Ambassador Ja\u016dhien Sabale\u016dski, said while presenting his credentials to Abdel Fattah al Burhan, chairman of Sudan\u2019s Transitional Sovereign Council, on October 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Belarusian foreign ministry, the Sudanese leadership \u201cconfirmed its intention to promote cooperation in various areas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, Sabale\u016dski met with Energy and Oil Minister Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, who co-chairs the Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation commission. The sides agreed to continue drafting a roadmap for implementing the agreements reached at the commission\u2019s previous, fifth meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 12, Sabale\u016dski reportedly held talks with State Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Muhammad Nur Abdelrahim to discuss joint events, \u201cincluding with the participation of banks, business circles and relevant agencies of both countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sudan is a northeast African country engulfed in a civil war. The Sudanese Armed Forces led by Abdel Fattah al Burhan control the capital Khartoum and the surrounding province, as well as most of the north, east and center of the country. In recent weeks, the army has made new gains in North Kordofan province. However, the opposing Rapid Support Forces retain control over almost all of Darfur in western Sudan and the province of West Kordofan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus and Sudan established diplomatic relations in 1999. According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, trade between Belarus and Sudan totaled $9.52 million in 2020 and $4.37 million in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 12, Pozirk.
