September 28, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Executives of a company in the Minsk region\u2019s S\u0142uck district have been found guilty on corruption charges, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office reports, without disclosing any names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former chief engineer was given seven years in prison on charges of theft and bribery and fined 31,500 rubels ($10,400). His former deputy was accused of transactions involving property obtained by criminal means and will serve three years of restricted freedom in home confinement. The woman was also fined 9,000 rubels (nearly $3,000). Both were barred from holding managerial positions for five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court also sentenced a 40-year-old foreign defendant to 18 months in prison and fined him 220,500 rubels (about $73,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of people convicted of corruption offenses increased by 12.5 percent year on year in the first half of 2026, according to the Supreme Court\u2019s data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
