September 24, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Belarusian law enforcers have charged 28 suspects with large-scale fraud committed by an organized group in a scam call center case, the Investigative Committee\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prosecutors approved the detention of suspects aged between 23 and 56, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators identified 82 victims in the criminal case, mostly middle-aged and elderly individuals. The damage exceeded 2 million rubels (about $662,000), prompting investigators to seize the defendants\u2019 property, which was valued at roughly the same amount. The defendants have already reimbursed more than 140,000 rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaders and members of the scam call center allegedly engaged in the systematic misappropriation of funds under the pretext of providing brokerage services. They concealed the scheme by operating under the names of legitimate international companies involved in stock market transactions, prosecutors said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
