September 22, Pozirk<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em> Belarusian pro-democracy leader leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja had a number of high-level meetings on the sidelines of UN General Assembly events in New York on September 21, including with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset and Czech President Petr Pavel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s press office, she also met with Finland\u2019s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, Estonia\u2019s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, Lithuania\u2019s Foreign Minister K\u0119stutis Budrys, Norway\u2019s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja said that her meetings had showed unity among foreign partners on issues relating to Belarus. \u201cIt\u2019s very important to distinguish Belarusians from the regime and Belarus from Russia,\u201d she said. \u201cWhile isolating the regime, it\u2019s important not to isolate Belarusians. And I see that they understand this well.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
