September 22, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> A Ukrainian woman has been arrested in Kyiv on suspicion of planning the assassination of a Russian opposition activist in a plot masterminded by Russia\u2019s Federal Security Service (FSB), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on Tuesday, adding that the woman had entered Ukraine through Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman, an unemployed resident of Russian-occupied Melitopol, had agreed to assassinate the Russian leader of a Ukrainian nationwide NGO in exchange for the closure of an illegal drug possession case against her, the SBU said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman was arrested near a gym where her intended victim, who has fought for Ukraine since 2022, works as a kickboxing coach, the report said. She was allegedly inspecting the scene to choose a good firing position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She received stealth and firearms training at an FSB facility in her home city and was later deployed to Ukraine\u2019s Zhytomyr through the Belarusian territory, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
