September 17, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Washington’s active diplomatic involvement with Minsk helps reduce hybrid threats and tensions in the region, Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevi\u010dius told John Coale, US special envoy for Belarus, at their meeting in Vilnius yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In addition to the humanitarian aspect of your activities, the Lithuanian government greatly appreciates the fact that Washington is paying attention to the security of Lithuania and our entire region,” the government’s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diplomatic engagement helps reduce hybrid threats and regional tensions, contributing to greater stability and security, particularly in turbulent times, Sinkevi\u010dius stressed. “The more attention the US pays to our region, the safer we are,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lithuanian President Gitanas Naus\u0117da also met Coale yesterday in Vilnius, following the US official\u2019s return from Minsk, after he secured the release of 25 jailed Belarusian regime critics. Naus\u0117da pledged continued support for Washington\u2019s efforts to liberate Belarusian political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLithuania values the consistent efforts of POTUS [President of the United States] as well as John Coale\u2019s personal engagement to secure the release of political prisoners in Belarus,\u201d Naus\u0117da wrote on X. \u201cWe will continue to provide the necessary support for these humanitarian missions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
