September 16, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarus saw a 8.4-percent increase in retail trade in the first eight months of 2026 to 75.5 billion rubels (nearly $25 billion), the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restaurant industry\u2019s sales climbed by 1.8 percent year on year in January-August to 5.3 billion rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retail trade by businesses, accounting for 96.3 percent of total retail trade, grew by 8.9 percent to 72.7 billion rubels, while wholesale trade grew by 0.2 percent to 121.1 billion rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 industrial production increased by 0.2 percent in this period after resuming growth in January-July with a 0.1-percent rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142stat also reported a rise of 2.7 percent in cargo transportation, marking the fifth consecutive month of growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
