September 13, Pozirk<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em> A total of 15,420 job openings are available for foreign nationals in Belarus as of September 13, according to the website of the Belarusian State Employment Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of vacancies rose by nearly 5 percent from 14,715 on September 7, increasing significantly since late July, when 4,344 jobs were offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The numbers have fluctuated throughout the year, with a peak of 22,338 job openings posted in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government plans to attract at least 50,000 foreign workers to Belarus by 2030, according to a report released in December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Up to 500,000 people left Belarus amid the 2020 political crisis and reprisals that followed, according to the data by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said he had invited migrant workers from Uzbekistan to come to Belarus with their families. He made the statement after talks in Minsk with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The move is intended to address severe labor shortages in the country. \u201cWe cannot get by without hiring workers from outside,\u201d the Belarusian ruler argued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 5,000 Uzbek workers are expected to arrive in Belarus\u2019 Viciebsk region to fill jobs in agriculture, construction, industry and the services sector, with some also set to work as nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka turned to Uzbekistan after a similar effort to recruit workers from Pakistan failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
