September 10, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarus\u2019 consumer prices declined in August for the fourth consecutive year. According to the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat), prices dropped by 0.1 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food prices decreased by 0.8 percent, while the prices of non-food products and services rose by 0.5 and 0.3 percent, respectively.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer prices rose by 4.5 percent in the 12 months to August with food prices rising by 3.1 percent; non-food prices, by 3.2 percent; and services, by 8.7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deflation in August is attributable to the new harvest, a seasonal factor. Consumer prices decreased by 0.3 percent in August 2023 and 2025, and by 0.1 percent in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 consumer prices reportedly rose by 6.8 percent in 2025, whereas the government had projected an inflation rate of no more than five percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the National Bank\u2019s Main Monetary Policy Guidelines for 2026, the inflation rate should not exceed seven percent this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
