August 28, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The prime minister of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevi\u010dius and his Estonian counterpart Kristen Michal see no grounds to change their countries\u2019 position toward the Belarusian regime or to ease sanctions, LRT<\/em> reports, citing ELTA<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk\u2019s behavior has not changed significantly, and the current assessment does not provide reasons for changing the sanctions policy toward Belarus, Sinkevi\u010dius told journalists yesterday during a joint press conference with Michal in Tallinn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus continues to carry out hybrid activities against Lithuania, including instrumentalizing irregular migration and cigarette smuggling by air, disrupting civil aviation operations, Sinkevi\u010dius said.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanctions against Belarus and certain Belarusian state-owned enterprises are a collective European decision, not merely a Lithuanian policy, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no reason to believe that Belarus is changing its position or distancing itself from Russia, on which it depends, Michal said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Lithuanian Foreign Minister K\u0119stutis Budrys said the European Union was not discussing any changes to its sanctions policy against Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
