August 27, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The 2566th Radio-Electronic Weapons Repair Plant in Barysa\u016d, Minsk region, opened a repair center for Russian Tor-M2K anti-aircraft missile systems, the Belarusian State Defense Industry Committee said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plant will overhaul the 9A331MK combat vehicles used by the Belarusian army as part of the Tor-M2K systems, the press release said. The new center may allow Belarus to carry out repair and restoration work domestically rather than sending the equipment to Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facility will improve the efficiency of maintenance and repair of the Tor anti-aircraft missile systems and reduce the time required to restore weapons and return equipment to service, the Belarusian defense ministry said, citing Andrej \u0141ukjanovi\u010d, Belarus\u2019 air\/air defense commander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Barysa\u016d-based plant will implement the project in collaboration with the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant and Russian companies, with the first batch of combat vehicles already at the repair shop. Both Belarusian enterprises involved in the project are under democratic countries’ sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
