The charge was brought against him under the Criminal Code\u2019s Article 369 over a comment on the Instagram page of the district government\u2019s newspaper, Viciebskaja Viasna reported.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The information ministry added 13 Telegram, Threads, Instagram and TikTok accounts and IT news website dev.by.io to its list of \u201cextremist content.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Former Belarusian political prisoner Siarhiej Ivanco\u016d, accused of insulting public officials and promoting extremist activities, who was freed and deported from Belarus in December 2025, told human rights defenders that police brutally beat him up following his arrest. He was held in punishment cells for many months while in prison, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political prisoners Ja\u016dhien H\u0142u\u0161ko\u016d and Maksim Urbanovi\u010d were released after completing their terms. H\u0142u\u0161ko\u016d, a 57-year-old former journalist, spent a long time in a prison hospital with a non-healing ulcer on his leg. He was sentenced to three years in prison in July 2024. Maksim Urbanovi\u010d, a brother of Belarusian volunteer Dzianis Urbanovi\u010d, who is fighting for Ukraine, had been given 18 months in prison for allegedly taking part in 2020 protests, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number of documented political prisoners in Belarus decreased by four to at 874, Viasna reported.
