August 24,<\/strong> Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The National Bank of Belarus has announced a reduction in the estimated values of standard risk (EVSR) next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interest rates on new deposits and loans that exceed the EVSR indicate a higher level of risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Bank of Belarus calculates the EVSRs at least once every three months based on the average interest rates set by seven major banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator has reduced the EVSR for new loans to companies in Belarusian rubels to 11.79 percent from 12 percent. The rate for individuals has been cut to 17.65 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EVSR for new irrevocable rubel deposits with maturities of one to three years has been lowered by 0.3 percentage points to 12.6 percent. For new irrevocable rubel deposits with maturities of more than three years, the rate has decreased to 14.5 percent. The EVSR for new investment loans has been cut to 10.45 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EVSRs were introduced in 2019 as part of a set of macroprudential measures aimed at limiting systemic risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
