August 15,\u00a0Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has, by his presidential edict, imposed sanctions on two new Belarusian companies over their alleged involvement in grain exports from Russian-occupied territories.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, the edict targets Rosahrainviest (Rosagroinvest) Ltd. and Trial Expert Ltd., with the former describing itself as a wholesale seller of grain, seeds and animal feeds and the latter as a company that produces, bottles and packages vegetable oils from oilseed crops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian president\u2019s adviser on sanctions policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, stressed that the export of grain from Russian-held areas should have \u201cconsequences\u201d for all those involved, \u201cfrom companies and owners to captains and vessels,\u201d and called on \u201cinternational partners\u201d to keep this commodity out of their markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine has imposed numerous rounds of sanctions on Belarus, focusing on its defense industry. In February 2026, Kyiv announced the toughening of its policy toward Belarus as it blacklisted Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and threatened retaliation for continuing support of Russia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities sided with the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions, supplying weapons to Moscow and providing other kinds of assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
