August 12, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The Belarusian State Customs Committee (SCC) has dismissed reports of massive delays affecting trucks operated by carriers from Russia\u2019s Kaliningrad exclave after they cross from Lithuania into Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian customs authorities \u201censure the timely release of transit goods transported in compliance with the law, including those arriving from Kaliningrad,\u201d the agency said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On average, about 80 vehicles with Kaliningrad plate numbers cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border daily, SCC said, noting that some 17,500 such vehicles have been processed since January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 16 trucks belonging to international carriers, including 11 with Russian plate numbers, are in customs control zones in Belarus, according to the SCC. Their movement has been suspended due to \u201creasonable grounds to suspect violations of the law during their importation,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SCC said the checks, which can take up to 20 working days, aim to determine whether vehicles are being used to evade customs duties by being moved under the guise of those already registered in the EAEU. Customs officials specified that the scheme involves falsifying VIN numbers, license plates and vehicle registration certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 60 such violations have been detected in the first half of 2026 alone, the SCC said, noting that 16 cases \u201cshowed signs of criminal activity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, klops.ru said that trucks are being held up at more than one border crossing on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, with the number of affected Kaliningrad-registered vehicles potentially reaching around 300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
