July 29, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Prosecutors forwarded to court a criminal case against the former CEO of the Hrodna meat packing plant, accused of accepting particularly large bribes, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect received bribes totaling 1.8 million rubels (more than $623,000) in cash and cryptocurrency from the five business executives between July 2019 and late May 2025, according to the case files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man allegedly involved his daughter, who was unaware of the nature of his actions, in the scheme, with illicit payments transferred to her cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect received all bribes in connection with the meat processing plant\u2019s procurement of complex food additives from specific companies, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have not disclosed his name, but it is known that Aleh Ivano\u016d, born in 1978, served as CEO of the Hrodna meat packing plant from 2019 until October 2025. The man had served as a delegate to the sixth and seventh All-Belarusian People\u2019s Assemblies, a body largely composed of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s supporters, and was a member of the Council of the Republic until November 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of people convicted of corruption offenses increased by 12.5 percent year on year in the first half of 2026, according to the Supreme Court\u2019s data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
