July 24, Pozirk.<\/strong> Representatives of military recruitment centers are visiting agricultural companies to identify underperforming workers who should be sent to southern Belarus to guard the border with Ukraine pursuant to Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s recent directive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officials have visited the Kleck, Puchavi\u010dy and S\u0142uck districts and met with the managers and employees of local agricultural companies, \u201cfamiliarized themselves with the progress of the harvesting campaign\u201d and inspected their facilities, the defense ministry reported on July 24. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspectors paid special attention to working conditions and adherence to labor discipline, the ministry said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka gave the directive at a government conference on July 21. \u201cWell, why should we handcuff people amid personnel shortages?\u201d the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office quoted him as saying. \u201cAsk [Defense Minister Viktar] Chrenin, pass my instructions to him: everyone who doesn\u2019t know how to work should be with the army, at the southern border.
