July 14, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine have joined the European Union\u2019s sanctions on Belarus-based AAT Izovac (OOO Izovac), EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU introduced sanctions on Izovac on June 15 for \u201cmaterially supporting Russia\u2019s military and industrial complex,\u201d according to the Official Journal of the EU.\u00a0 Izovak, specializing in vacuum coating technologies and related software, is represented in Russia by its partner LLC Engineering Group, which was also sanctioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Izovac has supplied $200\u202fmillion worth of goods to Russian defense contractors since the start of Russia\u2019s full-scale war on Ukraine in February 2022, the EU document noted, confirming conclusions of last year\u2019s report by the Belarusian Investigative Center (BIC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is little known to the general public, yet its customers reportedly included tech giants such as Apple, Tesla and Samsung. Touch screens for iPhone and iPad were originally manufactured using Izava\u0441\u2019s equipment, according to the World Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
