July 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Prices for some goods in Belarus declined after the Belarusian rubel strengthened by 6.1 percent year on year in June, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) said in its weekly macroeconomic review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inflation slowed to its lowest level since October 2023, the EDB said, with annual food price growth easing to 3.4 percent from 4.9 percent in the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fruit and vegetable prices fell by 11.5 percent. Non-food prices, meanwhile, continued to rise at a steady annual rate of 2.1 percent, the EDB noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inflation in the services sector accelerated to 8.8 percent from 8.5 percent in May, driven by wage increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EDB said the disinflationary trend appears sustainable, as core inflation slowed to 4.8 percent in June from 5.3 percent in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bank expects Belarus’ annual inflation to remain below the government’s upper target of 7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer prices in Belarus rose by 0.3 percent in June and by 2.9 percent since December. Annual inflation stood at 6.8 percent in 2025, according to official data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
