July 6, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) should hear the voices of real Belarusian politicians and civil society leaders rather than the regime\u2019s officials, Mykyta Poturaev, vice-president of the OSCE PA, said yesterday in The Hague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poturaev, who also chairs the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada’s committee on humanitarian and information policy, made these remarks during a meeting with Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja on the sidelines of the current OSCE PA session, after MPs announced the formation of a group for a democratic Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poturaev stressed that a democratic Belarus must be permanently represented in OSCE PA. He also endorsed Cichano\u016dskaja’s call to explicitly highlight the deep involvement and direct participation of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and his regime in Russia’s war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poturaev said \u0141uka\u0161enka bears full responsibility for supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine, accusing his regime of providing operational bases, military equipment, fuel and other resources critical to the Russian military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also described \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s regime as criminal both domestically and internationally, citing politically-motivated reprisals against Belarusians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
