July 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has discussed economic ties with Indonesian government officials in Jakarta today ahead of his meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, the Belarusian ruler’s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician pledged readiness to sort out issues \u201cwithout red tape,\u201d stressing that no aspect of bilateral cooperation was \u201coff limits.\u201d He also called for the swift establishment of joint ventures in Indonesia, listing agriculture, the supply and joint production of medical and veterinary pharmaceuticals and food production as key areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka stressed that Belarus is open to cooperation in any field and invited Indonesian partners to visit the country to assess its industrial capabilities firsthand. He added that Indonesia was already familiar with Belarusian technologies, many of which date back to the Soviet era. \u201cIf you\u2019d like to invest in any enterprises, we\u2019ll consider any proposals you have,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that Belarus understood Indonesia\u2019s development goals and could help achieve them by sharing its technological expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago, trade between Belarus and Indonesia soared by 44 percent to $128.4 million from $89.1 million reported in 2023, according to the Indonesian foreign ministry\u2019s data. Fertilizers accounted for more than 78 percent of Belarusian goods sold to Indonesia, according to the Observatory of Economic Complexity, which accumulates data on global foreign trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indonesia has previously expressed interest in increasing imports of Belarusian potash fertilizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler arrived in Indonesia following his visit to China on June 29 and 30. Earlier, he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
