June 16, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Israel\u2019s foreign ministry has criticized Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s recent comments on the Holocaust in his interview with Al Arabiya<\/em>, describing them as \u201cunacceptable and deeply disturbing\u201d in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry said Belarus is a country that \u201cknows all too well the horrors of the Holocaust committed on its own soil,\u201d stressing that any comparison between the Holocaust and Israel\u2019s war against terrorism must be rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEqually appalling is the revival of vile, outdated antisemitic conspiracies that should have long been consigned to history,\u201d the ministry added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interview, the Belarusian ruler criticized Israel, saying it needed to \u201cexercise greater care and caution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have already earned themselves such a reputation in the international community, by bombing Gaza, that it simply cannot get any worse,\u201d he said. \u201cMany have even turned to history. What Holocaust are they talking about? What possible Holocaust, of which the Israelis speak, when they killed so many people, above all women and children? They have wiped everything off the face of the earth there. And now they speak of building some kind of resort on the bones of the dead. That is utter stupidity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIsrael, too, needs to come to its senses and reflect on its own survival. If not, even nuclear weapons will be of no help to them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka also claimed that Israel had drawn the United States into the war with Iran, alleging that Israel benefits from powerful and wealthy lobbyists in Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, \u0141uka\u0161enka demonstrated his anti-Semitic views on many occasions. Back in 2007, he blamed Jews for turning Babrujsk, a Belarusian city with rich Jewish history, into a \u201cpigsty.\u201d Tzipi Livni, then-foreign minister, strongly condemned these \u201copenly anti-Semitic remarks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, \u0141uka\u0161enka said he wanted to keep the Jewish population \u201cunder control\u201d and reign in Jews such as the late founder of tut.by<\/em> Juryj Zisier.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three years ago, talking about the possibility of Armenia leaving post-Soviet alliances, \u0141uka\u0161enka said, \u201cI doubt that\u00a0Armenians are stupid people. Armenians are smart people! There is not a single Jew there!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
