June 5, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Belarusian Minister of Economy Juryj \u010cabatar has discussed investment cooperation and the implementation of joint investment projects with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, minister of foreign trade from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the economy ministry\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the talks, \u010cabatar promoted Belarus as an attractive destination for foreign investment and submitted several project proposals for consideration by the Emirati side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sides reportedly agreed to step up efforts to boost investment cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last December, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka signed a law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and the UAE on investments and trade in services. The agreement provides for the creation of a free trade zone for services between the two countries. It also sets out cooperation goals, including guarantees to ensure transparent and stable trading conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian exports to the UAE have soared 62 times since 2021, with investments quadrupling, Pozirk<\/em> reported earlier, based on analysis of publicly available official data, which indicated that two-way trade rose to $3.7 billion in 2024, with Belarusian exports at $3.66 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk also intensified military cooperation with the UAE as Belarus\u2019 Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin met with Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, the UAE Armed Forces\u2019 chief of staff, in Minsk last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
