June 5, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus\u2019 car market growth in May was driven by new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vehicle sales rose by 21.5 percent from the previous month to 8,100 new units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales of vehicles with internal combustion engines increased by 2 percent, while sales of hybrid and battery electric vehicles surged by 50 percent and 47 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales of battery electric vehicles reached a record monthly high of 3,500 units, the BAA said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BelGee accounted for more than 50 percent of the growth in hybrid vehicle sales, with 600 units sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the Belarusian-Chinese manufacturer sold 4,250 BelGee and Geely vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China\u2019s Dongfeng tripled its sales to 1,400 vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 car sales totaled 158,700 units in 2025, according to D\u017amitryj Jarota, director of BAA-Consult. The market grew by 14 percent that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
