June 4, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Meetings of the International Alliance of Parliamentary Groups For a Democratic Belarus in Berlin, Rome, Paris and London show that interest in Belarus is consistent within Europe and not limited to neighboring Lithuania and Poland, Anatol Labied\u017aka has told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician serves as adviser on constitutional reform and parliamentary cooperation to Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja. Both are currently visiting London, where the parliamentary alliance is meeting for the fourth time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Belarusian issue is on the agenda of the parliaments of leading European countries,\u201d Labied\u017aka stressed, noting that today\u2019s event focused on exchanging best practices regarding the work of the For a Democratic Belarus groups within various parliaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labied\u017aka said he presented a \u201cpositive alternative\u201d for Belarus, a vision of the country’s future without Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and Russian President Vladimir Putin and the reforms needed to achieve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPs from Croatia, Czechia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, as well as members of the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, reportedly participated in the meeting along with Cichano\u016dskaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe security of Belarus, Ukraine and Europe is inseparable,\u201d the opposition leader said on X, commenting on the meeting. \u201cSupporting democratic change in Belarus is an investment in the security and stability of our entire region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The alliance\u2019s next meeting will take place in Oslo in January 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
