June 4, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Officials from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as the Joint Staff and the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have met in Minsk to discuss the upcoming Unbreakable Brotherhood-2026 and Barrier-2026 exercises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting reviewed and approved the exercise concepts, the composition of the command structure and national contingents, procedures for conducting drills and arrangements for comprehensive logistical support, according to the Belarusian defense ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drills will focus on preparing and conducting a peacekeeping operation involving the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces and on measures to neutralize sources of biological threats, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u0141a\u015bvida and Staradoro\u017eski training grounds, located in the Viciebsk and Minsk regions, respectively, are expected to host parts of the exercises and have already been inspected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Andrei Serdyukov, chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO, said that the Russian-led bloc will conduct 60 training events in 2026, including eight command staff and special exercises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSTO is a military-political alliance whose declared goals are strengthening peace, international and regional security and stability and protecting its member states\u2019 independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty. It consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Yerevan suspended its participation in CSTO, accusing its individual members of \u201cplanning a war\u201d against Armenia together with Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
