June 4, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Thirteen more food poisoning victims have been identified in various localities in the Minsk region, the Investigative Committee said on June 4, citing its ongoing probe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children at 11 daycare centers in Barysa\u016d, a city of about 135,000 residents in the Minsk region, fell sick with food poisoning on June 2 and 3, the health ministry reported earlier on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 30 children between two and eight years of age were admitted to the infectious diseases hospital with vomiting, abdominal pain and weakness, the ministry said. Twenty-seven of them were hospitalized, with doctors suspecting acute gastroenteritis and describing their symptoms as \u201cmoderately severe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to state media, one child is still in hospital, while the others have been discharged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health authorities launched an inquiry to establish the cause of the outbreak. The Investigative Committee is probing the incident by order of the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 3, state media reported that 27 preschool-age children were brought to the Barysa\u016d Central District Hospital on Tuesday after they developed nausea and vomiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
