{"id":189557,"date":"2026-05-28T11:16:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/189557\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T11:16:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:16:16","slug":"scheme-to-circumvent-sanctions-busted-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/189557\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheme to circumvent sanctions busted in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>May<\/strong><strong> 28, <\/strong><strong><em>Pozirk<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>.<\/em><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>A scheme to export sanctioned agricultural equipment spare parts from Poland to Belarus has been busted in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exporter used two sets of documents, one declaring sweets, coffee and beer to Polish customs, while the other set declared actual goods to Belarusian authorities, according to investigators from the Lublin Regional Prosecutor\u2019s Office and the Polish Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators detained six people, including a Polish customs officer accused of taking $44,600 in bribes. The customs officer remains in pretrial detention for three months, while the others have been released on bail and their own recognizance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrests over the circumvention of sanctions are occasionally reported in the Polish media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, police arrested three Poles and two Russians for importing timber from Belarus and Russia bypassing sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Union extended its sanctions against Belarus on February 26 by one year. The sanctions were imposed over Minsk\u2019s support for the Russian war against Ukraine, the facilitation of irregular migration and other \u201chybrid attacks\u201d on the EU.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 28, Pozirk.
