May<\/strong> 27, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>Jacob Mudenda, speaker of the Zimbabwean parliament, met with his Belarusian counterpart, Ihar Sierhiejenka, in Minsk on May 27, reported the lower house of the Belarusian National Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two parliaments have signed a cooperation agreement and are forming working groups on cooperation with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting comes less than two weeks after a visit by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa to the Belarusian capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mnangagwa and Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka signed a cooperation roadmap after their talks in Minsk in May 2025. Earlier this year, the Belarusian ruler said Minsk aims to achieve $100 million in trade with Zimbabwe within the next few years. At that time, state-run media reported that bilateral trade exceeded $26 million in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian government intensified contacts with Zimbabwe in 2023, following \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s visit to Harare. There\u2019s no current data on bilateral trade. In 2022, it amounted to about $40 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zimbabwe\u2019s first lady Auxillia Mnangagwa visited Minsk twice in the last two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
