May 21, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Ukraine’s agencies have ordered measures to beef up security after receiving intelligence on Russia\u2019s alleged plans to attack the country’s northern areas, including from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effort, focusing on preventing \u201cthe enemy\u201d from infiltrating the border area, coordinated by the Anti-Terrorist Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, involves nearly all security agencies and covers Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Voly\u0144 and Rivne regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security services are expected to step up land patrols in these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday that Russia is considering attack scenarios against the northern regions of Ukraine from Belarus or Russia\u2019s Bryansk province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are already working to strengthen our defenses in this area,\u201d he noted. \u201cThe military command has been given the necessary instructions, but we are also taking separate preventive measures regarding both Belarus and certain parts of Russia from which the threat originates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
