May<\/strong> 11, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>The Council of the Republic, the upper house of the National Assembly, has approved an agreement to lift visa requirements for citizens of Belarus and Myanmar, according to its press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House of Representatives passed the accord on April 17. It was signed by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d and his Myanmar counterpart Than Swe in November 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It allows citizens of one country to stay in the other without visas for up to 30 days from the date of entry. The total length of stay must not exceed 90 days per calendar year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian officials have sought to expand ties with Myanmar lately. The country has been under military rule after a coup in early 2021, followed by a civil war that has claimed thousands of lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has signed into law a ratification bill for a double tax treaty between Belarus and Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
