May 6, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Lithuania did not allow several passenger buses traveling on regular routes between Belarus and Lithuania to cross the border, citing recent restrictions on the import of fuel from Belarus and Russia in vehicle fuel tanks, Infotrans Media Belarus<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, an Ecolines bus was sent for an X-ray and did not depart from the border checkpoint, it noted. Passengers reportedly had to order taxis to Vilnius after crossing the border on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another incident today, a Minsktrans bus was not allowed into Lithuania after an inspection. The passengers spent approximately three and a half hours at the border before the driver of another bus agreed to take them to Vilnius for an additional fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 23, the Lithuanian Seimas extended national sanctions against citizens of Belarus and Russia until the end of 2027. The package includes an amendment prohibiting the entry of vehicles from Belarus and Russia carrying more than 200 liters of fuel in their standard tanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
