May 4, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian Prime Minister Alaksandar Tur\u010dyn and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin have discussed \u201cBelarusian-Russian economic, scientific, and technological cooperation\u201d during a phone call, the Belarusian government\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officials pledged to intensify integration efforts within the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union and reviewed the progress of major joint economic projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade between Belarus and Russia in goods grew by 5.6 percent in 2025, with trade in services rising even faster, Tur\u010dyn said earlier this year. Last year, Russia consolidated its status as Belarus\u2019 key partner, with Russian investors accounting for about 60 percent of all foreign direct investment, he said, adding that Belarus is increasing its investment in Russia\u2019s economy \u201cat an even faster pace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He made this statement shortly after Juryj Sieliviersta\u016d, Belarus\u2019 ambassador to Russia and former finance minister, complained of \u201cnot particularly impressive\u201d progress of joint projects with Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
