May 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian pro-democracy forces prepared a draft memorandum on cooperation with Ukraine,\u00a0\u015aviat\u0142ana \u0160acilina, representative of the Belarusian opposition in Kyiv, has told Pozirk<\/em> on the sidelines of the 5th Belarusian Diaspora conference in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician did not disclose the details of the document, noting only that it contains the Belarusian side\u2019s proposals regarding potential cooperation, both by political and civil society actors, as well as the vision of mutually beneficial initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work is already underway to present proposals to Ukrainian government agencies, she said, adding that legal, economic, cultural, and other issues will be discussed after Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s planned visit to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, its timing depends on Ukraine, which is currently the only state in Europe at war and may have other priorities, \u0160acilina told Pozirk<\/em>, while commenting on the delay of the visit, which was originally announced for February-March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s visit may send a clear signal from Ukraine\u2019s presidential office to other government agencies to step up cooperation with Belarusian pro-democracy forces, the politician said. It would also help advance work on legalization, migration, labor and military issues and speed up mechanisms that are currently progressing very slowly, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit would also mark an important milestone in demonstrating to the Ukrainian society the differences between the regime of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and the Belarusian opposition, \u0160acilina stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held their first bilateral meeting in Vilnius on January 25. The Ukrainian leader invited her to visit Kyiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
