April 17, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>US President Donald Trump \u201chas done a great deal of harm, but he has also shown the whole world the true face of the USA and the capabilities of the USA,\u201d Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told Rick Sanchez of the Moscow-controlled Russia Today<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler’s press office has released some excerpts from the interview, where he commented on the current international situation, criticizing the US policies while largely avoiding direct attacks on Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US may be \u201ca great power, but not a superpower,\u201d it quoted \u0141uka\u0161enka as saying. The politician argued that every country in the world, including China, can see that Washington lacks true superpower status. He urged the US not to \u201cmeddle in China,\u201d adding that Beijing\u2019s strength is such that Washington would be unable to confront it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka also warned the US against a potential confrontation with Russia, saying the country\u2019s vast territory makes it impervious to missile attacks. \u201cMissiles will run out before they can cover the whole of Russia,\u201d he said, adding that Iran had demonstrated similar resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian politician claimed the US should \u201clearn democracy\u201d from Belarus, arguing that his country offers \u201creal democracy\u201d and \u201creal human rights.\u201d \u201cWhat human rights can you talk about if you\u2019re killing people? You killed a person \u2013 what rights does he have? He\u2019s dead,\u201d he said, referring to US actions in Venezuela and Iran, as well as Israel\u2019s military operation in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He concluded that US policy is guided by interests rather than being value-based, arguing that conflict with Iran is driven by a desire to control oil and gas resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka also spoke about a potential major deal between Belarus and the US, its possible terms, what he described as a \u201cspecial path\u201d for Washington to resume cooperation with Russia via Belarus and the prospects of his meeting with Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
