April 13, Pozirk. <\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has congratulated P\u00e9ter Magyar of Hungary’s Tisza Party on the victory in the 2026 Hungarian parliamentary election, the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka expressed hope that \u201cHungary\u2019s strong voice on the international stage will continue to be heard in the spirit of pragmatism, a commitment to maintaining universal security and respect for all nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am convinced that the traditions of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation that have developed over many years between Minsk and Budapest must continue,\u201d the politician stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 12, Tisza secured a constitutional majority, ending the 16-year rule of Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s Fidesz party, which pursued anti-European, anti-Ukrainian and pro-Russian policies, particularly in recent years. Voter turnout reached a historic peak, with nearly 80 percent of eligible voters casting their ballots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orb\u00e1n\u2019s rule was also marked by Hungary\u2019s consistent opposition of the tightening of the European Union\u2019s sanctions against Belarus and Russia. Hungary was the only EU country to hand \u0141uka\u0161enka diplomatic credentials after what the EU called a rigged 2020 vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
