April 11, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Law enforcers raided the Minsk office of the well-known architectural firm ZROBIM architects, arresting about 50 employees, zerkalo.io<\/em> reported. The crackdown may be connected to an earlier demand by authorities that founder Andrej Mako\u016dski hire an ideology worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other cases of politically-motivated persecution documented in Belarus from April 8 to 10 included police harassment targeting family members of inmates held in Belarusian prisons after the Committee for State Security (KGB) announced \u201cextremist group\u201d designation to 22 online chats where they have been active, MAYDAY.TEAM said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior ministry added 37 new names to the official register of people whom it considers \u201cinvolved in extremist activities,\u201d taking the total to 6,505 entries, Pozirk <\/em>reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of April 11, human rights defenders identified at least 913 political prisoners, but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
