April 9, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian authorities have opened the Hdzie\u0144 border station at the shared border with Ukraine, some 30 kilometers away from Chernobyl, Belarusian state-run media reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ihar Hutnik, deputy chairman of the State Border Committee, and D\u017amitryj Vinnika\u016d, in charge of the Homiel Border Group, attended the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The border guards unit in the Homiel region\u2019s Brahin district became operative in late 2022, with an area of responsibility covering more than 15 kilometers of the land border with Ukraine. Experts assure that radiation levels throughout the entire protected territory remain within acceptable limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, Belarusian authorities opened a border patrol station in Makrany, Brest region, near Belarus border with Ukraine\u2019s Valyn region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
