April 7<\/strong>, Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Russian troops are using Belarusian airspace to facilitate the passage of their attack drones and bypass Ukrainian defenses, rbc.ua<\/em> reports, citing Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department at the Ukrainian Air Force Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official suggested that \u201ccertain towers and repeaters\u201d in Belarus could be aiding the enemy in controlling its assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have frequently observed drones flying one after another into our western regions, right along the border with Belarus. To make them more resistant to electronic warfare jamming\u2014so that more of them can reach their targets\u2014the enemy is likely relying on assistance from a neighboring state [Belarus] to ensure the drones can fly unimpeded,\u201d Ihnat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official did not provide further details on drone command centers in Belarus, noting that Ukrainian intelligence \u201clikely knows more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia plans to deploy four ground-based long-range drone control stations in Belarus, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last month after meeting with Oleh Ivashchenko, chief of Ukraine\u2019s Foreign Intelligence Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, yesterday, Serhii Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukraine\u2019s defence minister, said media reports had misinterpreted the president\u2019s comments. He clarified that Zelensky\u2019s remarks concerned \u201cfour \u2018Shahed\u2019 control stations for long-range operations,\u201d adding that Ukraine had already destroyed them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
