Many healthcare workers fled the country, fearing politically-motivated persecution after the 2020 political crisis in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday, the Belarusian health ministry announced that the country will eliminate all tuition-based places at medical schools for the 2026\/2027 academic year, which will make all graduates subject to a work requirement in assigned positions for several years.
