The shortest route for motor vehicles travelling between \u0141uniniec and Stolin is 46 kilometers long and includes a ferry crossing subject to weight and size restrictions and dependent on weather conditions. The two other routes involve detours through Pinsk and \u017dytkavi\u010dy and stretch 125 and 180 kilometers, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to reporters last month, Siarhiej Lavon\u010dyk of the transport and communications ministry, said that the Roads of Belarus state program would receive approximately 19 billion rubles (some $6.5 billion) in funding over the following five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the funding, 18 billion rubles, will be allocated from the state budget and is expected to cover repairs and reconstruction of at least 25,000 kilometers of public roads, including 500 bridges, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lavon\u010dyk singled out the bridge across the River Prypia\u0107 in Mazyr, Homiel region, as \u201cthe most interesting object,\u201d which is nearly one kilometer long. Last year\u2019s renovation of the bridge, covered by the state investment program, was reportedly completed in 24 months rather than the planned 30 months. \u0141uka\u0161enka inaugurated the bridge with great fanfare on November 6, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until 2020, Belarus largely relied on European funds and the World Bank to finance the construction and repair of roads and bridges. Since 2008, the country has received \u20ac5.3 billion for infrastructure projects, including roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested nearly \u20ac2.5 billion in over 100 projects in Belarus. However, the bank suspended funding for state projects in 2020, cutting off access to its financing in 2022 amid Belarus\u2019 domestic political crisis and Minsk\u2019s support for Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 3, Pozirk.
