April 3, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has called for an end to complaints over Belarus\u2019s healthcare staff shortage at the opening of a new Minsk outpatient clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want everything in Belarus to be perfect and of high quality,\u201d the politician\u2019s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka stressed that there are \u201cenough people\u201d in Belarus. \u201cWe need to build a system so that the people we have can work, earn a living and serve the population. This applies more than 200 percent to the health ministry,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler added that people living outside Minsk should also be able to receive high-quality healthcare, citing the city\u2019s more advanced medical technology. The politician called for balanced development across Belarus, warning against regional disparities and stressing that the health and well-being of the population are central to maintaining national unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access to medical care in Belarus is steadily deteriorating due to ongoing politically-motivated reprisals, said an independent report compiled last year on the country’s compliance with its human rights obligations under the fourth Universal Periodic Review (UPR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the 2020 political crisis in Belarus, many healthcare workers fled the country, fearing politically-motivated persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of April 3, the official job bank listed 2,616 openings for physicians and 2,288 for nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
