January 21, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Minsk and the Minsk region accounted for 50.6 percent of Belarus\u2019 gross domestic product in 2025, according to Pozirk<\/em>\u2019s analysis of the National Statistical Committee\u2019s (Bie\u0142stat) data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the economy grew by 1.3 percent to 286.7 billion rubels in today\u2019s money (nearly $99 billion), falling short of the government’s 4.1-percent forecast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GDP of Minsk amounted to 90.6 billion rubels; the Minsk region, to 54.6 billion rubels; the Brest region, to 33.5 billion rubels; the Homiel region, to 31.6 billion rubels; the Hrodna region, to 29.4 billion rubels; the Viciebsk region, to 25.1 billion rubels; the Mahilo\u016d region, to 21.8 billion rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city of Minsk led the growth with 2.4 percent year on year, followed by the Homiel region with 2.4 percent and the Hrodna region with 1.7 percent. The Viciebsk region was the only region to post a 1.1-percent decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government expects Belarus’ economy to grow by 2.8 percent in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
