January 15, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The Viciebsk region needs a breakthrough with a fresh perspective and actions to tackle existing problems, including livestock mortality, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told Alaksandar Raho\u017enik, the newly appointed head of the Viciebsk Regional Executive Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe country can easily manage without the products, especially agricultural goods, that the Viciebsk region produces today,” the Belarusian ruler’s press office quoted him as saying. “But the Viciebsk region is part of our country, and good people live there. We cannot lose it. Moreover, there are huge resources concentrated there. We just need to refocus on these resources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government plans to hold a meeting to address agricultural production with particular attention on the underperforming Viciebsk region, \u0141uka\u0161enka added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 agricultural output rose only by 0.2 percent in comparable prices last year, following a 3.4-percent increase in 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Viciebsk region contributed 10.9 percent of the country\u2019s agricultural production in 2025, ranking fifth out of six Belarusian regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
