January 4, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Government collapse is always sudden and violent in the absence of dialogue with society and public support, Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka of the opposition transition cabinet said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician made this statement following the reports of United States strikes on Venezuela on January 3 and the capture of Venezuela\u2019s authoritarian ruler Nicolas Maduro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe only option for [Alaksandar] \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s inner circle is to do everything necessary now to bring about peaceful change in Belarus \u2014 through a round table,\u201d he stressed. \u201cTime is working against the dictatorship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transition cabinet proposed a round-table discussion with \u201call political and social forces\u201d last August, saying authorities in Minsk must show a willingness to negotiate by ending politically motivated reprisals and releasing all jailed political opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka has consistently ruled out negotiations with the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
