{"id":169435,"date":"2025-12-23T20:34:41","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T17:34:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/169435\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"investigative-journalists-hrodna-azot-sells-sanctioned-goods-in-eu-using-front-companies","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/169435\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigative journalists: Hrodna Azot sells sanctioned goods in EU using front companies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>December 23,&nbsp;<em>Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Hrodna Azot, the Hrodna-based chemical plant, sells polyamide to the European Union bypassing sanctions and also supplies it to Russia for the production of body armor, <a href=\"https:\/\/investigatebel.org\/en\/investigations\/grodno-azot-polyamide-russia-sanctions-eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">says<\/a> the Belarusian Investigative Center (BIC). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russian companies use polyamide supplied by Hrodna Azot to manufacture bulletproof vests and helmets, CEO Ihar La\u0161enka said at a forum of regions of Belarus and Russia in summer 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The buyers include JSC VNIISV based in Tver, AO Zavod Trud based in Nizhny Novgorod and Belneftekhim-Ros Company Limited, a distribution arm of Belarus\u2019 Bie\u0142naftachim state petrochemical concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, from 2022 through July 2025, Russian enterprises received thousands of tons of Belarusian polyamide yarn worth about $48 million, while shipments of pure polyamide were valued at approximately $60 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hrodna Azot uses front companies, such as TAA Groniti, to supply polyamide to the EU bypassing sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company signed a contract with Hrodna Azot in August 2021 for the export from Belarus of polyamide yarn worth almost \u20ac650,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract was later updated to expand the range of products, BIC said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of 2023, more than 300 batches of sanctioned goods have been shipped through this front company to Italy and more than 300 to Latvia and 142 batches to Poland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 23,&nbsp;Pozirk.
