December 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Russia\u2019s phytosanitary service, Rosselkhoznadzor, has announced banning the export of more than 400 kilograms of red caviar and seafood to Belarus between November 29 to December 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A joint operation with the Smolensk customs department enabled Russian authorities to intercept five vehicles transporting caviar and seafood to Belarus, while bypassing official veterinary checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian nationals transporting the cargo did not possess the required veterinary certificates verifying the products\u2019 origin, quality and safety, Rosselkhoznadzor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goods were reportedly found in unsanitary conditions, in trunks and cargo compartments of vehicles not designed for food transport, and without monitoring the manufacturer-required temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caviar shipment of more than 250 kg, as well as mussels, cod liver, crayfish and other products were returned to the senders, while drivers face administrative charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
