November 27, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Germany will continue pressure on Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said after meeting Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja yesterday in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGermany stands with your people, civil society and the exile community. They can count on us in their struggle for freedom,\u201d he said<\/a> on X, calling for the release of all jailed Belarusian regime critics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fate of Belarus depends on the current negotiations on Ukraine, and any peace must be reached on Ukrainian terms, Cichano\u016dskaja said at the meeting, according to her aide Franak Via\u010dorka. The politician stressed that restoring Belarusian sovereignty requires ending Moscow\u2019s control and the withdrawal of Russian troops and nuclear weapons from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sides also discussed Minsk’s hybrid attacks targeting Poland and Lithuania and ways to prevent them, including sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja is visiting Germany from November 25 to 28 at Wadephul\u2019s invitation. Yesterday, she met Bundestag President Julia Kl\u00f6ckner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
