November 22, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> John Coale, US special envoy to Belarus, has welcomed the release of 31 Ukrainians pardoned today by Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, describing the move as \u201canother positive step.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We continue to work toward bigger goals,” he said on X, noting the support of US President Donald Trump. Christopher Smith, deputy assistant secretary for Eastern Europe at the US Department of State, was reportedly involved in negotiations with Minsk alongside Coale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, Andriy Yusov of the Ukrainian defense ministry expressed gratitude to Trump \u201cfor the leading assistance and role of the US\u201d and noted what he called the \u201cconstructive position of the Belarusian authorities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNegotiations with various countries, first and foremost with the US, are currently in an active phase,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s spokeswoman Natalla Ejsmant said today. \u201cWe have consistently stated, and reiterate, that Belarus is open to dialogue and prepared to consider proposals from all interested parties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days ago, \u0141uka\u0161enka announced Minsk\u2019s talks with Washington next month. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
